With that line of thought you could simply argue "HAY LETS JUST PUT A CRAPTON MORE OP'ED PVE ONLY SKILLS IN AND SCREW THE OLD SKILLS!"
Wait a sec, that sounds like a precursor to proposition to separate PvE and PvP balance! Something I have yelled at A.net to do for some time now! Just do it by giving them entirely separate skillsets!
I take that all back, I love you, you wonderful brilliant person you.

The general PVP community should find the nerf extreme, right? Sure it needed a nerf, but this makes it useless.

I proposed a similar idea here. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10264415
I guess if you have EotN you could use Mental Block or a Dwarven skill in it place.I don't use WY as I prefer to have an IAS.

To the first part, its useless to run Roaring Winds on a ranger because every other skill is so useful.
Visions of Regret... even Clumsiness > Visions of Regret
Also if those skills WERE put on a mesmer/necro with half a brain (which is unlikely since they'd be running hexway and don't need one) why should people run hexway to counter pretty much 1 skill? And don't say SV/AV can still be used because Paras switch targets every few seconds...
/notsigned btw if u couldn't tell

Keep the nerf but increase the amount of armor given.

The skill was horrible on a warrior anyway; the only class who ever should have been using this was a paragon. And...I'm still using it on my hero paras for the insane energy management, I just don't get free armor on top now.
Seriously, if you were using this as a warrior, thank ANet for forcing you out of a bad skill choice.

/signed I guess
Though really, if it stays nerfed it'll save me the trouble of putting points into tactics at all. The only useful things were heal sig and this, so cutting this down lets me go weap, str, secondary with ease.

Cant use it on heroes?
WY has been truly killed now. It was a good skill for HM particularly in dungeons like kathandrax, but now it is just useless. No one in my HM alliance likes the change at all. Its just another skill ruined like incoming was and has been made completely shit now.

Maybe he does know and just doesn't care. This last nerf killed any PvE utility of WY and reduced the utility of an entire skill branch to a handful of riposte/defense based builds because of what goes on in PvP.
If you can't avoid breaking a skill for PvE when "fixing" something in PvP, don't. PvP'ers are the minority and should get the shaft when there's no mutually satisfactory solution.

I disagree with the idea.
I say split it into 2 skills. One would be the current version but with it's AL buffed and a longer recharge. The other would be the prenerf version that lasted 10 seconds, but reduce the AL to about 12 or so.

So before nightfall you never ever used WY and it was bad for a warrior or any other class to give their party +20 armor?
You fail.
I dont always use a paragon hero, so I just put WY on any class that attacks. Usually W, P, or R. I hardly see a problem with putting an adrenal skill on a class that builds up adrenal.
How about reverting it and just doubling the cost to 8 adrenal? It would still be usefull, but take twice as long to put it up.

Isn't the whole reason that the motivation line was destroyed by Izzy was because they were too overpowered in GvG? Why doesn't he try buffing the skills like the OP mentioned to counter that instead of simply hitting Paragons with the nerfbat over and over...?
And yeah, some of us (as in, the majority of GW) doesn't care about GvG. Maybe Anet should keep that in mind the next time they completely shit on something to 'spice things up a little'.
